The CTW Chinese Tourist Welcome Award has been held annually by COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute since 2004. It has established itself as the leading award programme for the Chinese outbound tourism market, having presented service quality prizes to more than 150 tourism service providers, Destination Management Organisations, National Tourism Organisations, retailers, hospitality, marketing and communication companies among others. The CTW Award programme and its winners gain widespread exposure each year through a coverage in a wide range of international printed and digital media publications. The 2025 CTW Award ceremony was held on May 15th, 2025 during the Guangzhou International Travel Fair as part of the Chinese Outbound Tourism Forum. As been done since 2004, Gold, Silver and Bronze CTW Awards were awarded in five categories: • Product Innovation • Internet/Media • Service Quality • Marketing • Overall Performance
Almost all winners were present during the Award Ceremony directly or represented by partners or their consulates, providing insights into their activities and projects to increase the quality of their services for the Chinese outbound travellers.
Among the Gold winners, three came from Asia and one from Europe and the Americas each. Silver went twice to Asia and to Europe and once to Africa. The Bronze awards were most evenly spread between two for Europe and one each for Asia, America, and Oceania.
In total, therefore, Asian applicants could celebrate six CTW Awards, European five, the Americas two and Africa and Oceania one each.
